With just six days left for the polling for general election to assembly and Lok Sabha in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is pulling out all stops to wrest power from Telugu Desam Party headed by N Chandrababu Naidu.
On Friday, Jagan came out with a master stroke, just a few hours before he released his party’s manifesto for the elections.
Addressing a rally at Guntur, Jagan made an announcement providing free health care access to all the poor and the middle class people.
Announcing the new scheme “Universal Health Cards,” Jagan said any individual with an annual income of up to Rs five lakh could avail this card and its benefits.
“Lakhs of individuals from poor and middle class families to benefit from this scheme. They would be given Universal Health Cards to avail medical services free of cost,” he said.
Taking YSR’s vision of Arogyasri forward, the Universal Health Cards will be applicable for any medical expense over Rs. 1,000. The scheme will be personally monitored by Jagan, once he comes to power.
