Jagan turned aggressive after Delhi tour?

For the last two das, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has suddenly been putting up an aggressive posture, attacking his political rivals – Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan.

In the last two public meetings – one at Narasaraopet on Thursday and at Nandyal on Friday, Jagan made an unprecedented attack on Naidu and Pawan, besides their supporting media houses.

Analysts say it was unusual on the part of Jagan to make such an aggressive attack on the political rivals.

Though Jagan has been attacking the TDP in general and Naidu in particular in the assembly and his official meetings, he has been maintaining utmost restraint while speaking in public.

“But at the last two public meetings, the chief minister was speaking as if they are election meetings. He spoke about the possible alliance between the TDP and Jana Sena; he spoke about anti-incumbency vote which Naidu and Pawan are trying against splitting. By saying that the TDP and Jana Sena cannot even pluck his hair, Jagan has gone to the extreme level,” an analyst said.

The sudden change in Jagan’s posture is attributed to his recent visit to New Delhi, as it was only after his return that he addressed these two meetings.

So, something might have happened in Delhi that made the chief minister give vent to his anger at the public meetings.

Interestingly, even at the cabinet meeting held on Apnril 7, a day after his return from Delhi, Jagan spoke to the ministers about the defeat of Chandrababu Naidu at any cost in the next elections to sustain the party for the next 20-25 years.

Does it mean the chief minister has received any signals in New Delhi about the revival of the TDP in the next elections?

Has the Delhi sounded any alert that if the TDP joins hands with Pawan Kalyan, it would pose a tough time for the YSRCP?

“Anything might be possible. But it is clearly evident that Jagan is frustrated after the high court judgement on Amaravati and lack of cooperation from the Centre. One won’t be surprised if he suddenly decides to dissolve the assembly and go in for mid-term elections later this year or early next year,” an analyst said.
