The YSR Congress party government headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has started exposing the “internal trading” allegedly done by the Telugu Desam Party leaders in and around Amaravati, before it was declared as the capital city by N Chandrababu Naidu government in September 2014.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau authorities, following instructions from the Jagan government, seized several documents from Mangalagiri sub-registrar office pertaining to land transactions done just before the announcement of capital city at Amaravati.
After ascertaining all the details, the YSRC government has decided to expose one TDP leader after the other, who allegedly indulged in large scale purchases of lands after Naidu has leaked the information to his close aides about the proposed capital Amaravati.
As part of that, the Jagan government on Wednesday exposed the land dealings of former Union minister and present Rajya Sabha member from BJP Y S Chowdary alias Sujana Chowdary.
“After all the lands are in the name of TDP leaders or their relatives, on September 4, 2014, in the assembly, Chandrababu Nadu announced Amaravati as the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh,” an official note from the AP CMO revealed.
It said that Sujana Chowdary was in possession of large extent of land abutting the capital area region in a safe distance from the land pooling zone.
It said the family members of Sujana Chowdary had bought large chunks of lands running into 623.12 acres around the capital area region skirting the land pooling zone.
The lands include: 110.6 acres at Gudimetla village of Chandarlapadu mandal in Krishna district at a rate of Rs 5 lakh per acre in the name of one Jatin Kumar, who heads Shiva Satya Pigments Private Limited, one of Chowdary’s 120 shell companies. The cost of the same land hiked to Rs 50 lakhs per acre.
By this, it is clear that Sujana Chowdary has made Rs 50 crores profit in the name of Amaravati.
All the lands purchased have been registered in the name of an organization that belongs to Sujana Chowdary.
Sujana’s brother’s son Yelamanchali Jathin Kumar made huge profits by establishing Shiva Jyothi Flycon Blocks Private Limited in 11.56 acres.
The MP adopted Veerulapady Mandal, Ponnavaram village and purchased 13.39 acres in the name of his father Y Janardahana Rao.
Another 3.5 acres with survey number 41, 4.03 acres with survey number 78, and 6.14 acres with survey numbers 38-2 have been purchased by Sujana Chowdary in the name of his brothers Y Shiva Ramakrishna, Y Shivalinga Prasad, and wife Y Susheela Kumar respectively.
Apart from this, Sujana Chowdary has purchased lands in the name of SJK Biotech Pharma Private Limited at Nandigama Mandal's Chandapuram village.
To rescue himself from the scam, Sujana Chowdary purchased properties near Amaravati in the name of his relatives, the official note said.
