Jagan to Delhi again on July 4, to meet Modi

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is rushing to New Delhi on July 4 again, amidst speculations that he would extend support to the NDA, in the wake of the attempts of the formation of an anti-BJP front by all the opposition parties.

He would be leaving for New Delhi on July 4 evening, soon after his Tirupati tour.

During his two-day stay in Delhi, Jagan may meet Prime Minister Narendra Nodi on July 5 morning, for which the appointment has been confirmed.

He will also meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other union ministers including Jal Shakti Gajendra Shekawat and Nirmala Seetharaman.

The meeting of Jagan with top BJP leaders assumes significance, in the wake of recent meeting of BJP national president J P Nadda at Visakhapatnam, where he made wild allegations against the YSRC government, describing it as the most corrupt government.

There were also reports that the BJP is cosying up with the Telugu Desam Party led by N Chandrababu Naidu for the next election. But soon after Nadda’s visit to AP, the local BJP leaders have started attacking the TDP and Naidu with sharp comments.

Though Naidu had met Amit Shah and Nadda in Delhi in May leading to speculations that the BJP might have an alliance with the TDP, there has been no further development on this front. Naidu has gone silent on the alliance, while the BJP leaders have stepped up the attack on him.

Against this backdrop, the meeting of Jagan with Modi and Shah has led to the talk that the BJP central leadership feels the YSRC as more reliable partner than Naidu. Watch out for more developments on this front!
