If YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has his way, bad days are ahead for media houses that had been blowing the trumpet of Telugu Desam Party all these years and are doing it even now.
Addressing the massive gathering of public after taking oath as the second chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan directly took the names of Eenadu, Andhra Jyothy and TV5, which are generally being considered pro-TDP media houses and warned them against carrying negative stories about his government deliberately.
“My government is going to bring in transparency in administration and ensure that there is no corruption at any level. Unfortunately, there are yellow media houses like Eenadu, Andhra Jyothy and TV5, which still feel Chandrababu Naidu should continue to be the chief minister. They will carry negative stories on our government,” he said.
Warning them against distorting facts, Jagan said he would not hesitate to file defamation cases against them in courts and request the courts to take stringent action against them.
“I will seek an appointment with the High Court Chief Justice and request him to provide one Judge for heading the Judicial Commission that will clear all contracts. We shall place all the documents pertaining to the contracts approved by the judicial commission before the media, including those yellow media. If they still write negative stories distorting facts, we shall not hesitate to file defamation cases against them,” he said.
In a way, Jagan sent a message to all the media houses that they should write only positive stories about his government and if they don’t mend their ways, they would face the music.
