Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had proposed IT University in Visakhapatnam, the executive capital of the state.
At a review meeting on Wednesday, the chief minister asked the officials to establish IT University with world class employability skills imparted to the youth.
He also asked the officials to promote IT industries in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Anathapur giving better incentives to the investors.
In the midst of speculation that Jagan Mohan Reddy would shift his base to Visakhapatnam in July, the chief minister wanted the officials to set their eyes on promoting Visakhapatnam as the city to be on par with cities like Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
He said that Visakhapatnam has greater potential to be the world class city with the sea cost and the tourist-friendly weather.
He wanted officials to add world class infrastructure to Visakhapatnam for its fast development and to be tire one city in the state.
He told the officials to offer better incentives to the IT companies that open their offices in Visakhapatnam.
He also wanted them to focus more on these companies giving more jobs to the local youth
The incentives should be counted on the number of employment provided by these companies every year, the chief minister said.
