Jagan Moves From Ramayana to Mahabharata

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is going hard against his rivals. Jagan is using every occasion to come out and address the people. His speech at Ongole was the third in a series.

He pointed out his rivals at the first meeting at Narasaraopet by taking the names of Chandrababu Naidu of TDP, Ramoji Rao of Eenadu, Radha Krishna of Andhra Jyothi and Naidu of TV5. However, he added Pawan Kalyan of Jana Sena as the adopted or foster son of Chandrababu Naidu.

He told the people that he would be fighting with these four persons in the next round of elections in 2024. He said that these four people were spreading false and misleading campaigns against him and his government and cautioned the people not to fall into their trap.

In his second meeting at Nandyal, Jagan called Ramoji Rao and Radhakrishna as Mareecha and Subahu from the epic Ramayana. These two characters in Ramayana assisted Ravana all the time. They are not seen and they always move in the air. Rama as a child killed Subahu on the request of Viswamithra. Later, Rama killed Mareecha, who came in the form of a golden deer.

Like Mareecha and Subahu from the epic Ramayana, Jagan said that Ramoji Rao and Radhakrishna don’t appear directly but fight a battle for Ravana (Chandrababu Naidu in this case).

In the third meeting at Ongole, Jagan Mohan Reddy moved from Ramayana to Mahabharata to name these four enemies of his government. He called them “Dusta Chatustayam” (four evil forces). In Mahabharata, Sakuni, Duryodhana, Dussasana and Karna are called Dusta Chatustayam, as they conspire together against Pandavas.

In this case, Chandrababu Naidu, Ramoji Rao, Radha Krishna and Naidu (TV5) are the Dusta Chatustayam, who, according to him, are conspiring against his government which is doing good to the people.

Since people are well versed with these epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata, Jagan Mohan Reddy is taking those names to take his point directly and clearly into the people.
