Jagan men tried to bribe stampede victims?

In a sensational allegation, Andhra Pradesh endowments minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy on Friday accused the YSR Congress party of trying to bribe the victims of Tirupati stampede to speak against chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his government.

Speaking to reporters in Nellore, Ramnarayana Reddy said Jagan, along with his “gang of four” visited the hospitals in Tirupati in the guise of calling on the persons injured in the Wednesday’s stampede and offering condolences to the bereaved families of those who died in the mishap.

“The four individuals responsible for tarnishing the reputation of Tirumala Temple accompanied Jagan yesterday. When Jagan visited the hospital, there were 18 people there. One of this gang of four entered the hospital before Jagan and handed over cash envelopes to the victims in the hospital, instructing them to speak against Chandrababu Naidu,” he alleged.

The minister said the hospital’s CCTV cameras recorded the footage of YSRCP leaders handing out the white envelopes to the injured.

Even the doctors and staff present noticed this incident of distributing envelopes and instructing them to speak against the chief minister, he said.

“Doesn’t this bring shame to the YSRCP? Jagan governed the state for five years, but his people offer condolences by giving out cash envelopes and asking people to accuse the government and the chief minister?” he asked.

Stating that the YSRCP leaders were a burden to society, Ramnarayan Reddy said amidst a big tragedy, Jagan tried to play politics, while there were the deceased on one side and the injured on the other.

He said Jagan should have asked the devotees about the improved quality of prasadam and free meals.

“We will protect devotees' sentiments and bring Lord Venkateswara closer to common devotees,” he said.
