YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday came down to Visakhapatnam to take part in the annual rituals of Visakha Sarada Peetham headed by Swamy Swaroopanandendra.
The chief minister conducted special prayers as part of the anniversary of Sarada Peetham foundation, performed Go Puja and went round the Shami tree as part of the rituals.
According to sources, Jagan spent some time with Swamiji personally and discussed the developments with regard to shifting of administrative capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.
He reportedly requested the Swamiji to suggest an auspicious day for the commencement of the functioning of the chief minister’s office from Visakhapatnam. The Swamiji reportedly told him that he would work out the dates and get back to the CMO.
Earlier in the day, the Swamiji began Raja Shyamala Yagam for the welfare of the state and the nation. His successor Swatmanandendra Saraswati also took part in the yagam. The festivities would continue for five days.
