Jagan Meets Gov, Takes Permission For Cabinet Revamp

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had met Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan at Raj Bhavan, immediately after coming from Delhi on Wednesday. 

Sources say that the chief minister had taken permission of the Governor for the swearing-in of the new ministers on April 11. 

The chief minister is said to have informed his decision to revamp the cabinet and invited the Governor to administer the oath to the new ministers. 

It is said that the chief minister had decided on taking the resignations of the ministers at the cabinet meeting scheduled to be held in the afternoon of April 7. 

Though originally the cabinet meeting was planned for the morning, it was differed to the afternoon following his visit to New Delhi. 

The chief minister’s office had already sent communication to the ministers asking them to come to the cabinet meeting with the resignation letters. 

Sources also say that the chief minister had also sought permission of the Governor for creation of new district with Polavaram or Rampachodavaram as headquarters. 

The state government has decided to further bifurcate the Alluri Sitarama Raju district to have the total districts number going up to 27 as against 26 now.
