Jagan letter to Piyush gains political colour!

A letter written by Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to Union railway minister Piyush Goel a couple of days ago offering transfer of the state government land to the railways in lieu of the land occupied by nearly 800 families in Vijayawada has gained political colour.

In the letter, Jagan He requested that the railway land in Raja Rajeswari Peta be handed over to the state government so that this could be regularised in the name of 800 families who have been staying there for the last three decades.

He said the families had made several representations to the government to regularise these encroachments. He offered to allocate suitable state government land to the railways in lieu of this encroached land.

The TDP leaders are questioning this sudden love of Jagan Mohan Reddy for the land encroachers.

“The issue has been there for several years and many such letters were written to the Railway ministry in the past, too. So, there is nothing new that he has mentioned,” a TDP leader said.

Apparently, the TDP leaders are suspecting that the YSRC might make use of this letter during its campaign in the ensuing elections to Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and grab the votes of people in the 56th division in Vijayawada (West), where these encroachments are there.

The YSRC has taken the VMC elections prestigiously and is going all out to capture the corporation by all means.
