As the elections to the Andhra Pradesh state assembly are fast approaching, YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has stepped up his attack on his political rivals – Telugu Desam Party and the Jana Sena Party.
Though Jagan has been targeting TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at every public meeting politically, often dragging Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan into the verbal attack describing him as Naidu’s adopted son, he never used to make any personal remarks against them.
But in the last couple of meetings, Jagan started personal attacks on Pawan Kalyan, questioning his frequent marriages. At a recent meeting, he said he was not like Pawan Kalyan, who had married four times.
But on Friday, Jagan went a step further and let loose on not only Pawan Kalyan, but also Naidu, his son Lokesh and brother-in-law Nandamuri Balakrishna, making references to their personal lives.
“Lokesh consumes liquor, enjoys with girls in the swimming pool and dances with them in broad day light. Balakrishna says if he sees a girl, he wants to either kiss her or makes her pregnant,” Jagan said.
On Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister said the former had no shame even after crossing 70 years.
“He tells his brother-in-law: you might have spent with girls in reel life, but I have done it in real life. He has no shame in saying this,” Jagan said.
Referring to Pawan Kalyan’s allegations against village volunteers that they were abetting women trafficking, the chief minister said it was atrocious that a person, who had illicit relations with another woman when his wife was still there, was talking about the character of volunteers.
“Pawan Kalyan’s only character is to marry again and again,” he said.
Jagan said volunteers were good people who do not know corruption and discrimination.
“They knock at the doors of the people to enquire about their well-being. But Pawan Kalyan has made wild allegations against them, saying they are trafficking women and luring them,” he said.
He alleged that the entire script of Pawan Kalyan against volunteers was drafted by Naidu and his adopted son was only doing action and delivering dialogues.
