Jagan is the richest Chief Minister in the country

The Association for Democratic Reforms and National Election Watch (NEW) has found that AP Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is the richest chief minister in the country.

He holds assets worth Rs 510 crore, both movable and immovable, besides the criminal cases.

Among the 30 chief ministers, only 13 have a clean record, while the other 17 have some or other criminal record.

Telangana chief minister KCR tops the list with the highest number of 64 cases against him, of which 37 are of criminal nature.

He is followed by Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin with 47 cases, of which 20 are criminal cases.

The chief ministers of Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Sikkim, and Punjab have one criminal case each against them.

The chief ministers of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Mizoram, and Kerala have the lowest of two cases pending against them.

Among the top three richest chief ministers, Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu of BJP and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik of BJD share the second and third places after Jagan Mohan Reddy in the top place.

Jagan Mohan Reddy has Rs 443.48 crore movable and Rs 66.88 crore immovable assets according to his own declaration.

Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu is the youngest chief minister at 39 years of age, followed by Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Kongkal Sangma at 44 years.

The country’s only woman chief minister, Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal, stands as the poorest chief minister with just Rs 15 lakh worth of assets.

Mamata is followed by Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal with Rs 1 crore worth of assets each.
