Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) decision to enlist the services of poll strategist Prashant Kishor has been dismissed by YSRCP leaders, asserting that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's political acumen outweighs the strategist's influence.
State ministers and YSRCP legislators expressed confidence that the people of Andhra Pradesh support Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy due to his successful implementation of welfare and development programs in the state.
Highlighting the TDP's perceived weakness leading up to the general elections, ministers remarked that Chandrababu Naidu is attempting to stay relevant in state politics.
Water resources minister Ambati Rambabu claimed that Naidu lacked credibility among the public, and the move to bring in Prashant Kishor was an effort to salvage the party's prospects.
Minister Meruga Nagarjuna downplayed concerns about Kishor's association with TDP, stating that Jagan Reddy is an adept political and electoral strategist, equivalent to six Prashant Kishors.
Social welfare minister Nagarjuna asserted that the people had trust in Jagan Reddy and his ability to fulfill poll promises, making the YSRC confident about the 2024 elections.
Referring to the change of candidates in constituencies, Nagarjuna criticized Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh for occupying BC-dominant constituencies by suppressing the rights of BCs.
Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh and Health Minister Vidadala Rajini echoed similar sentiments, stating that Prashant Kishor's involvement would not affect the YSRC's stronghold in Andhra Pradesh.
Former minister Kodali Nani referred to Naidu as an outdated politician and claimed that Mamata Banerjee sent Prashant Kishor to AP, urging Chandrababu to join the INDIA alliance.
YSRC MLA Perni Nani recalled Naidu's previous skepticism about Prashant Kishor's influence during his stint with the YSRC and asserted that the strategist's impact was limited.
