YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is trying hard to build up confidence among the party leaders and cadre, stating that he would not let his guard down, but would continue in politics for another 30 years.
Addressing a meeting of the party functionaries from the united Guntur district at Tadepalli office on Wednesday, Jagan said the YSRCP had secured nearly 40% of the vote share in the last assembly elections and lost power with a loss of just 10% votes.
“Even this loss of 10% votes is because I had refused to make false promises like Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu. I assure the party workers that I remain deeply connected to the people and will continue in politics for another 25-30 years,” he said.
Jagan said Naidu has been betraying public trust by discarding the manifesto and neglecting key sectors like education, healthcare, agriculture, and industries.
“People have realised the deception by Naidu, so much so that the TDP leaders are now afraid to enter villages because they have failed to keep their promises,” he said.
He slammed the coalition government for involving in multiple scams, including sand and liquor scandals.
He said corruption is rampant, bribes have become necessary for any work, gambling clubs are openly operating, and those who question the government are being arrested under harsh laws.
He warned that such injustice will not last and that the people will give a strong lesson. He promised that YSRCP will return to power with “Jagan 2.0” governance.
He assured that no wrongdoers would be spared and that legal action would be taken against those involved in corruption.
He admitted that during his tenure, COVID-19 restricted his ability to support party workers fully, but he pledged to stand by every worker in the future.
Jagan cautioned that the term of local bodies will end in March and that the ruling party will try to place its people in key positions through pressure and false cases.
He urged his cadre to stay strong, saying that such situations are temporary and that YSRCP will soon be back in power.
The YSRCP urged his party workers to remain determined and confident. He assured them that YSRCP is fully prepared to return to power and serve the people again.
