Jagan gets another advisor, for public health!

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday decided to appoint one more advisor to the state government, this time to look after the issues related to public health.

According to official sources, the Jagan government appointed Dr K Srinath Reddy as the advisor (public health) to the chief minister. He is likely to take charge in a day or two.

Srinath Reddy, who had worked as head of cardiology department of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in the past, has a vast experience in dealing with public health issues.

Apparently, Jagan thought he would be of great help to the state in the wake of growing number of Coronavirus cases across the state.

Srinath Reddy is expected to land in Amaravati in a couple of days and hold meeting with the chief minister, sources said.

An official bulletin issued by the Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday said as many as 17 new positive cases of Covid-19 have been detected since Monday night, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 42 (including two patients already discharged).

“A total of 164 samples were tested since last night out of which 147 are negative and 17 are positive,” the bulletin said.
