Jagan gets a complete Hindu makeover these days!

Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party is desperately trying to project YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as anti-Hindu to gain some political mileage, he is not giving them any such chance.

Though he is a devout Christian, Jagan has not been giving any such impression at least when he makes public appearances. He is behaving like a true secular ruler, giving equal importance to all the religions.

But of late, Jagan has been increasingly adopting Hindu outlook and following its religious traditions, both in letter and spirit. He is sporting the typical Hindu attire when he visits Hindu religious ashrams and temples.

A couple of days ago, Jagan visited Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy ashram at Muchintal on the outskirts of Hyderabad to pay reverence to Sri Ramanujacharya whose 216-ft statue was unveiled by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

Like Modi, Jagan, too, sported traditional attire and wore a “Thiru Namam” (vertical tilak on the forehead), as he went round the complex.

He took part in the yagam and took Vedic blessings from the priest. Both in his dress and behaviour, he appeared like a typical Brahmin, rather than a Christian.

On Wednesday, too, when Jagan visited the Sarada Peetham ashram of Swamy Swaroopananendra at Visakhapatnam, he was looking like a typical Hindu religious person. He took part in the yagam and other rituals religiously.

In fact, during the Brahmotsavams held at Tirumala in October, too, Jagan strictly followed all Hindu traditions, right from wearing typical dhoti, wearing Thiru Namam, carrying the silk clothes of Lord on his head and obtaining Veda Asheerwachanam.

He also got a Go Shala set up at his Tadepalli residence and took part in the cow worship programme on Sankranti festival. Surprisingly, even his wife Bharati also took part in the programme, though she used to stay away from such rituals in the past.

During the Tungabhadra Pushkarams in Kurnool district, too, Jagan sported traditional attire, including dhoti, and walked up to the pushkar ghat without wearing chappals.

He wore the turban tied on his head by Vedic purohits, before offering silk clothes to the river on behalf of the government. He performed pujas and offered Haarathi and other rituals to the river.

Now, the BJP has little to complain against Jagan and allege that he is anti-Hindu!
