Tollywood actor and writer Posani Krishna Murali was arrested on Wednesday night for his abusive posts against Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan, and other opposition leaders during the previous YSRCP government, despite announcing long ago that he would quit politics and was not associated with the YSRCP anymore.
But the YSRCP doesn’t want to leave Posani to his fate but has decided to come to his rescue at a time when he is in trouble.
Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy himself took it seriously and entered into direction to help the senior actor.
On Thursday, Jagan spoke over the phone with Posani’s wife, Kusumalatha, who resides in Hyderabad, to offer his consolation in light of the arrest. He criticised Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government for acting in political vengeance.
Jagan assured Posani Krishnamurali that the YSRCP would stand by him in this matter and provide full support.
He emphasized that both the public and divine forces are witnessing the ongoing events and urged strength during this challenging time.
Furthermore, he confirmed that the party would extend legal assistance, adding that the matter has already been entrusted to senior lawyers affiliated with the YSRCP to ensure justice is pursued.
Meanwhile, Jagan is reported to have discussed Posani’s arrest with senior YSRCP leaders.
According to party insiders, Jagan believes that this arrest is a diversion tactic by the ruling TDP-JSP alliance, similar to a previous political episode involving TDP leader GV Reddy.
As police prepare to present Posani in court today after a preliminary investigation at the Obulavaripalle police station in Annamayya district, reports suggest that YSRCP’s legal team is on its way to the location to provide legal assistance.
