Jagan doesn't want to give survey reports to MLAs

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has been commissioning periodical surveys by various agencies, apart from the state intelligence department and also Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) of strategist Prashant Kishore on the performance of his party MLAs.

Apart from I-PAC which is submitting reports on the MLAs once in three months, another Delh-based agency and other survey agencies are undertaking periodical surveys on the ground-level situation of the party, sources said.

He has been getting reports from these agencies also almost once in three months. One agency doesn’t know what the other agency does and nobody knows how these surveys are being done and the methodology being adopted for the same.

The state intelligence department is also said to be monitoring whether these agencies are genuinely doing the surveys or giving him only tailor-made reports. All the reports have been kept completely confidential.

Occasionally, Jagan is telling the erring MLAs to correct their style of functioning, as the surveys are indicating that their performance was far below the expectations. But he doesn’t want to disclose the outcome of these surveys to any of the MLAs.

Apparently, some of the MLAs, who sensed that the feedback against them is not so good, are understood to have asked the chief minister to disclose the outcome of the surveys to them, so that they could rectify their mistakes which have been pointed out during the surveys.

But Jagan is learnt to have vehemently said “no” to their request but only told them to focus on their constituencies, rather than doing rounds to Tadepalli.

He reportedly told them that there was no need for disclosing the reports, as they were very much aware what their lapses are.

“If your performance is good, it will automatically reflect in the reports. Since there is still one and a half years’ time for the elections, you have ample time assess yourself and rectify your mistakes. If the feedback is good, you will get the tickets again; if not, you will not,” he reportedly told them.
