AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy is learnt to have took the issue of Rajya Sabha member Sujana Chowdhary and his family's land dealings in Amaravathi 'very seriously'.
Sujana, who defected from TDP to BJP soon after Lok Sabha polls, has been targeting Jagan for his decisions on reverse tendering, stopping Polavaram, Amaravathi capital city works etc.
The tussle between Sujana and YSRCP government intensified further after AP municipal minister Botsa Satyanarayana accused Sujana and his family members of indulging in 'insider trading' in Amaravathi land deals.
Botsa alleged that Sujana and his family members knew much in advance that the AP's new capital city will come up in Amaravathi as then AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu 'leaked' capital information to his 'benamis' who include Sujana.
Botsa said that Sujana and his family members exploited this and accumulated lands in Amaravathi for cheaper rates before capital city announcement came from Chandrababu.
However, Sujana rubbished Botsa's allegations and dared him to prove whether he or his family members own any lands in Amaravathi.
Sujana stated that neither he nor his family members own any lands in Amaravathi and even if any of his family members own lands, they were purchased several years ago, when Andhra Pradesh was not even bifurcated.
AP CM Jagan took Sujana's challenge seriously than Botsa.
He directed all the investigation teams to conduct a thorough inquiry by visiting each and every village in Amaravathi, where Sujana & Co purchased lands just before Amaravathi capital announcement.
With this, teams from revenue, ACB, CID and Vigilance wings sprung into action visiting the villages in Amaravathi capital region and gathering information from villagers on land deals of Sujana & Co.
The teams were directed to submit the report to Jagan within two weeks.
Jagan is confident that he could 'expose' Sujana and his family members with the information gathered by investigative agencies and prove how they indulged in insider trading and accumulated valuable lands in Amaravathi for cheaper rates.
