YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was getting ready to conduct his massive fourth public rally “Siddham” at Medarametla of Bapatla district on March 3, postponed it by a week.
The fourth “Siddham” meeting will now be held at the same place and same venue on March 10, according to party general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy.
So far, Jagan has addressed three public meetings in the name of Siddham – the first one at Sangivalasa village of Bheemili mandal in Visakhapatnam district, the second one at Eluru and third one at Raptadu in Anantapur district.
“We are planning the fourth one at Medarametla in Bapatla district in a grand manner. We have deferred the meeting to ensure that it will be the biggest meeting of the party ahead of the announcement of election schedule, which is likely on March 12 or 13,” Sai Reddy said.
He said more than 15 lakh people are expected to attend the Bapatla meeting to be held on the side of Chennai-Vijayawada national highway.
“Arrangements are being made in 98 acres of land for the public meeting. A massive parking area has been earmarked for vehicles,” he said.
Sai Reddy said the YSRC workers from Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nellore and Tirupati parliamentary constituencies would attend the Siddham rally.
“Party president Jagan Mohan Reddy will show a new direction to the cadre on propagating the government schemes and the administration,” he said.
Apparently, Jagan wants the meeting to be unprecedented as it is going to be the last one before the announcement of election schedule.
“Once the election schedule is announced, he will not be able to make use of the government machinery for the meetings. Hence, he deferred the Bapatla meeting to March 10,” sources said.
