Jagan decides to attend assembly session

Setting aside all the speculations and rumours, YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to attend the budget session of the state assembly, commencing on Monday.

This was announced by senior YSRCP leader and former minister Perni Venkatramaiah alias Nani at a press conference on Tuesday.

He said Jagan will indeed attend the state assembly as an MLA, if not as the leader of the opposition.

Nani said apart from Jagan, all the other 10 MLAs of the YSRCP would also attend the assembly session and would take on the onslaught of the ruling National Democratic Alliance government.

“We shall expose the government’s inability to implement the promises made before the elections. We have our own strategies on how to corner the government on various issues,” Nani said.

He ridiculed the Chandrababu Naidu government for not in a position to introduce a full-fledged budget even after four months of the commencement of the financial year.

“How can Naidu introduce only vote-on-account budget even in July? This has never happened,” he said.

With Jagan deciding to enter the assembly, political observers are expecting a lot of fire works in the assembly.

Needless to say, the YSRCP might not get much opportunity to speak in the House, because of small numbers.

This might force Jagan and his party MLAs to storm the podium and create ruckus in the assembly, a strategy which was adopted by the Telugu Desam Party during the Jagan’s regime. In any case, it is going to be a stormy session of the state assembly.
