After a long time, the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat at Velagapudi has gained a new colour on Saturday with the entry of new chief minister of the state and YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy into his chamber.
Many Secretariat employees recalled that the atmosphere in the campus was rigid and tense in the last few years. Now, they feel very much relaxed with the new dispensation.
“However, it is too early to talk about the working atmosphere under the Jagan Mohan Reddy rule. We shall wait and see how he handles the administration. At least for now, he is very dynamic and we hope he will bring dynamism in the departments with new work culture,” an employee commented.
Jagan entered the chief minister’s chambers at 8.30 am amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by pundits and grand welcome from the Secretariat employees.
After performing pujas in the chambers, he garlanded the huge portrait of his father late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy that adorned the wall, before occupying his chair.
Later, he signed files pertaining to increase of salaries for Aasha workers, seeking permission for taking up Anatapur expressway and health insurance scheme for journalists.
