Jagan behind illegal arrest of Jethwani: Sharmila

In yet another attack on YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, his own sister and state Congress president Y S Sharmila alleged that Jagan was the mastermind behind the false case filed against Mumbai-based actress Kadambari Jethwani.

Launching an attack on her brother, Sharmila told reporters that Jagan had engineered the illegal arrest of the Mumbai actress in a false case and her harassment for three days in Vijayawada guest house to protect his friend and industrialist Sajjan Jindal.

She alleged that Jagan had a secret understanding with Sajjan Jindal, who had an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government for setting up steel plant at Kadapa at a cost of Rs 8,800 crore.

Not a brick was moved there after the foundation stone was laid by Jagan on February 15, 2023, but 3,500 acres of land was handed over to Jindal, she said.

“When Jindal was repeatedly meeting Jagan at Tadepalli palace, everybody thought it was for expediting the steel project. But the real conspiracy behind these meetings is now revealed, after the arrest and harassment of Jethwani,” Sharmila said.

She alleged that Jagan and Jindal had conspired to ruin the career of the actress by getting her arrested in a false case and tortured her in the guest house.

“She is a doctor and actor, belonging to a noble family. When she filed a sexual harassment case against Jindal, he sought the help of Jagan and both J&J tried to crush her,” she said.

Sharmila alleged that Jagan had instigated senior IPS officers to harass a single woman, who was fighting for justice.

“Had she tried to blackmail Jindal, she would have compromised for money. But she stood firmly seeking justice. Hence, she was harassed,” she said.

She wondered how Jagan, who is a father of two girls, had conspired against a woman and tortured her using so many top police officials, fixing her in a forgery case.

“Jagan has to answer this. The government, too, should order a probe against Jagan,” she demanded.

Sharmila also described the alleged installation of hidden camera in the washrooms of the girls’ hostel at Gudlavalleru engineering college as a fake incident.

“Our fact finding team has found that it was a hoax and there were no hidden cameras in the college. Not a single video has come out so far,” she said.
