Several posters that appeared on the walls of Proddatur town overnight welcoming Narreddy Sunitha Reddy, daughter of slain former MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy, into the Telugu Desam Party created ripples in the political circles.
The poster shows Sunitha wearing yellow scarf of the TDP and has pictures of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh, TDP Andhra unit president K Atchen Naidu and TDP leaders Srinivas Reddy and B Tech Ravi, besides that of Viveka and Sunitha’s husband Rajasekhar Reddy.
Nobody knows who pasted the posters on the walls of Proddatur, but it led to the talk on Sunitha’s entry into the TDP.
There were already speculations in the media that Naidu has been in touch with her and bringing pressure on her to contest the Kadapa Lok Sabha elections on TDP ticket.
In fact, the YSR Congress party leaders have been alleging that Sunitha had been dancing to the tunes of Naidu and it is the TDP who is behind her petitions in the court accusing Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy of being the mastermind in her father’s murder.
Even YSRC general secretary and advisor to the government Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy openly said Sunitha was going to join the TDP very soon as she had been in touch with Naidu in connection with the Viveka murder case.
Now, with the posters surfacing in Proddatur town, they lent credence to the allegations of the YSRC. While there was no reaction from Sunitha or her family members on the posters, the TDP reacted strongly to the development.
Proddatur TDP in-charge Praveen said the TDP was no way concerned with the posters that appeared in the town.
“It is the handiwork of the YSRC leaders to create disturbances in the town and malign the image of the TDP and Sunitha,” he said.
Praveen wondered whey the posters had appeared only in Proddatur.
“It is a clear case of conspiracy. It is obvious that the conspiracy was hatched only to divert the attention of the people from the Viveka murder case, which reached a decisive stage,” he alleged.
