IPS officers kept in waiting skip duties!

Many of the 16 IPS officers from Andhra Pradesh who have been waiting for postings since the change of government in the state are reportedly defying orders from the Director General of Police (DGP) to mark their attendance regularly.

According to some media reports, these IPS officers initially applied for leave soon after the DGP's orders were issued. After their leave period ended, they stopped coming to the police headquarters.

For example, DGP-rank officers, including former intelligence chief P. S. R. Anjaneyulu and former CID chief P. V. Sunil Kumar, went on leave and did not return to their duties at the DGP office after their leave ended.

Anjaneyulu was on leave from August 14 to 26, while Sunil Kumar was on leave from August 13 to 20. After their leave ended, they did not return to the office.

The same is true for DIG Vishal Gunni and Superintendents of Police K. K. N. Anburajan and K. Tirumaleshwar Reddy.

Vishal Gunni attended the DGP office for a few days to sign the register but has not been coming since August 20. Similarly, Tirumaleshwar Reddy has been absent from duties since July 29, and Anburajan has been absent since August 22.

Other SPs, like Siddharth Kaushal and Mary Prashanti, have reported to the DGP office. However, another SP, G. R. Radhika, has not attended to her duties since August 12.

It is not known whether the government will treat their absence as dereliction of duty or deduct their salaries for their absence on disciplinary grounds.

On August 12, the DGP issued instructions to 16 IPS officers at the rank of DGP and SP who were awaiting posting orders to sign the attendance register kept in the officer's waiting room.

They have been asked to be ready to attend to any urgent work that may be assigned by the DGP. Officers were also instructed to sign out before leaving the office for the day.
