Notwithstanding the clarification given by actor and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan that no show-cause notice was served on Rapaka Varaprasad, the party’s lone MLA in the assembly, uncertainty prevails over the MLA’s continuation in the party.
Rapaka told a television channel that it had become a common practice for the MLAs of a political party to defect to other parties.
“So, there is no surprise if an MLA changes the party now. I don’t want to say anything about my plans, but I should also look at my future in politics, right?” he asked.
The Jana Sena MLA from Razole in East Godavari district also said he did not get any show-cause notices from the party. At the same time, he clarified that he had no direct or indirect relations with the YSR Congress party.
“If I want to speak anything negative against the government, I will not get the microphone to speak. That is why, I raise positive issues,” he said.
Rapaka said there was an urgent need to overhaul the Jana Sena Party at all levels.
“The party needs to make some key changes and take some crucial decisions. Otherwise, there is no future for the party,” he explained.
