Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), floated by popular political strategist Prashant Kishor and that helped YSR Congress party led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in winning the recent assembly elections with a massive mandate, is back in action.
According to highly placed sources, Jagan has engaged the services of I-PAC in supplementing his efforts to weed out corruption at the grassroots level.
The organization, which will operate with an extensive network of team members, was offered a hefty amount as remuneration.
Though the contract is yet to be finalized, it is learnt the I-PAC team has already started the back-end work of the YSRC government from Hyderabad.
Sources said Jagan has sought the help of I-PAC team in monitoring the functioning of village volunteers who had been appointed this month and Village Secretariats that will come into operation from October 2.
Apparently, the task given to the I-PAC team is to keep an eye on corruption at the village level, likely to be indulged in by the village volunteers and secretaries in delivering government benefits to the people.
The team will immediately bring it to the notice of the government so that it can take corrective action.
Secondly, the I-PAC team will also be interacting with the beneficiaries on a regular basis and obtain their feedback on the implementation of the government schemes.
“It will help Jagan in two ways: first, to ensure that the benefits of the government programmes reach the common man without involving corruption and middlemen. Secondly, the team will consolidate a strong vote bank for the YSRC in the villages by ensuring effective delivery mechanism of the government schemes,” an official said.
