The former minister addressed the media in Hyderabad on Friday, where he justified the privatisation of Visakha Steel Plant.
“The Visakha steel plant will remain in Visakhapatnam. It will not go anywhere. A private management would take over and operate it,” Suresh Prabhu said trying to allay the fears of people on the Central government’s move to privatise the plant.
The former minister said that the economy of the country was badly hit by the covid 19, on par with several other countries.
The government was only inviting the private partnership and participation in select sector to overcome the current financial crisis caused by covid 19, the former minister said.
