In the recently held Municipal Elections in Andhra Pradesh, YSRCP secured 52.63% of vote share (an increase of 2.68% from the 49.95% vote share of General Elections 2019).
On the other hand TDP secured 30.73%, a decrease of 8.44% from the 39.17% in General Elections 2019.
JSP bagged 4.67%, a mild decrease of 0.86% from the 5.53% of General Elections 2019.
Surprisingly BJP picked up its voting percentage in Municipal Elections from 0.84% when compared to 2.41% of 2019 General Elections.
On a whole it is only the TDP that suffered a major knock out blow from the voters.
Even when compared to the 2014 Municipal Elections the situation is miserable for TDP.
In 2014, YSRCP could win only 939 wards which comes to 36.52 wards and TDP won in 1424 wards which is 55.39%. But now in 2021, YSRCP won 2265 wards (81.07%) while TDP is limited to 348 wards (12.70%).
