YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will be remembered in the state’s history as a son who dragged his own mother to court, a brother who betrayed his sister, and an uncle who reclaimed property once gifted to his nephew and niece.
This was the sharp criticism leveled by Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Y S Sharmila, who reacted strongly to the affidavit filed by Jagan in court regarding the Saraswati Power and Industries shares.
Sharmila claimed that Jagan had personally signed the memorandum of understanding related to the Saraswati Power shares but has not given her even a single asset.
“He had gifted those shares to our mother, Vijayamma, but later went to court asking for them to be returned. He is deceiving his own mother,” she said.
“As a son who files a case against his own mother and an uncle who reclaims property given to his nephew and niece, this is how Jagan will be remembered. YSRCP members must now introspect — can Jagan truly be trusted?” Sharmila questioned.
She explained that Jagan himself had earlier announced the transfer of property to her children, with the gift deed for the shares being executed in favor of their mother, Vijayamma.
“Now, he wants to take back the gift,” she said, accusing Jagan and his wife Bharathi of trying to seize assets for themselves.
Sharmila also alleged that senior YSRCP leaders like Y V Subba Reddy and V Vijayasai Reddy were being used as shields to spread false allegations against her and her family.
“For Jagan, it seems wealth is more important than even his closest relationships,” Sharmila remarked.
