High drama, as Naidu cries before media!

Perhaps for the first time in his four-decades of political career, Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu burst into tears and wept inconsolably, taking the media persons by shock and surprise.

Soon after announcing in the state assembly that he would step in the House again for the rest of the present assembly term and would return to the assembly only after becoming the chief minister again, Naidu drove straight to the TDP office at Mangalagiri to address a press conference.

The real drama was unfolded within a minute of Naidu started addressing the press conference. He began referring to the YSR Congress party members allegedly making abusive comments against him, dragging even his wife into the ugly slugfest.

But within a minute, Naidu’s voice was choked and face became red with emotion. He broke down and started crying like a child for a couple of minutes. He even covered his face with hands for a minute while crying. The TDP members beside him were also in tears, as Naidu was weeping.

He tried to control himself after a while and said his wife had never been in politics, except encouraging him in every step of his life. He went on explaining how he had been facing humiliation from the YSRC leaders.

“I have no interest in power. I had enough of it in my life. I was the chief minister of the state for a record time and I don’t want any further records. But I will fight against this draconian rule for the sake of the people. I will take my struggle into the people and if they approve me, I will come back,” he said.

Even at the end of the press conference, Naidu broke into tears for some time and ended the press meet without taking any questions.
