Hectic lobbying for APFTDC chairman post!

Now that the new government of Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is in place, hectic lobbying has begun for various nominated posts in the state.

One such post for which there has been serious lobbying is the chairman of AP State Film and Television Development Corporation (APFTDC).

While Naidu is generally considered to be film industry-friendly, deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan himself is a prominent figure in the Tollywood.

So, lobbying for the APFTDC post has become easy for the people from the film industry.

Already, film industry bigwigs met Pawan Kalyan and held detailed discussions on the issues concerning the industry. Some of them are understood to have raised the issue of APFTDC chairman personally with Pawan Kalyan, sources said.

According to sources, two persons from the film industry have been the front runners for the APFTDC chairman post.

One is popular producer Ghattamaneni Adiseshagiri Rao, brother of yesteryears’ superstar late G Krishna, who had held the post in the past.

Since Adiseshagiri Rao has strong political background and is also a senior leader in the TDP, Naidu might prefer him, sources said.

At the same time, he is considered to be a non-controversial person with friendly relations with all the people in the industry.

Another person who is said to be lobbying for the post is another popular producer of Creative Commercial banners K S Rama Rao.

He is closer to the mega family, particularly Chiranjeevi. He even recently met the chief minister and presented his case, sources said.

Rama Rao also met Pawan Kalyan’s brother Naga Babu and requested him to use his good offices with Naidu and recommend his name for the APFTDC chairman post.

"In any case, Naidu will take a final call in a week," sources said.
