Hearing On Jagan Bail Case Posted To July 8

The CBI Court in Hyderabad posted the hearing on petition for cancellation of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail was posted to July 8.

The CBI court which heard the petition on Thursday asked Jagan Mohan Reddy’s counsel to file written arguments to the court for the next hearing.

The petition was filed by Narasapuram MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju, who wanted the CBI court to cancel the bail of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The MP, who differed with the party leadership, alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy, being the chief minister of the state, and other officers in AP, were influencing the witnesses to weaken the cases.

He wanted the court to cancel the bail before resuming hearing on the cases, in which Jagan was arrested and sent to jail in 2013.

The MP’s counsel also alleged that the petitioner was subjected to harassment by the police under the influence of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He said that the MP was arrested and tortured by the police and feared that Jagan and other co-accused in the cases, including some bureaucrats would further subject the MP to harassment.

The counsel for the MP requested the court to cancel the bail petition without giving Jagan and others a chance to use their power and influence the witnesses.

The court, on hearing the counsel, asked Jagan and the CBI to file written arguments before the court when the hearing resumes on July 8.
