Senior journalist GVD Krishna Mohan, who has been the voice of YSR Congress party for the last nine years, was on Friday appointed as Advisor (Communications) to Government of Andhra Pradesh, headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
GVD, who started his career in journalism with Eenadu, used to write columns in the editorial page on various national and international issues, including Constitutional matters, economic affairs and politics, which got him a lot of name and fame.
His interview with senior Maoist leader Akkiraju Haragopal alias Ramakrishna (RK) on ETV News channel received wide appreciation.
GVD was one of the founding pillars of Sakshi media house and within a short time of the launch of Sakshi, he started exposing the maladies plaguing the system including deep-rooted corruption in various government departments through his column “Edi Nijam.”
Since then, he had become one of the close confidants of former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and present chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He had been associated with Jagan in every moment and walked along with the party president and his family in all the difficult situations.
Ever since Jagan had founded YSR Congress party on March 12, 2011, GVD had been part of YSR family and the voice of the party. He not only gave a strong voice to the party but also trained several spokespersons to effectively communicate the party stand on various issues. He was a real political master for the party’s spokespersons.
During Jagan’s padayatra, GVD had been associated with him and shared every difficulty and every turbulence faced by the party president. With Jagan coming to power with thumping majority, GVD has now become the communications head.
