Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday alleged that the so-called expert committee headed by retired IAS officer G N Rao had submitted its report exactly in tune with the idea of YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“It is like writing examination based on a question paper leakage. If Jagan leaked the papers, G N Rao wrote the examination. Whatever Jagan proposed, Rao committee prepared the report accordingly,” Naidu said addressing a farmers rally at Thullur.
Naidu wondered what legal sanctity did the expert committee constituted by the Jagan government have.
He sought to know whether there was any state in the county which had separate capitals for legislature, judiciary and executive.
“Which part of the Indian constitution suggests separate capitals for them? Did Jagan ever read the Constitution? How can the offices of the chief minister, Governor, legislative speaker, ministers and judges be located in different places?” he asked.
Stating that decentralised development was different from decentralised administration, Naidu explained how the TDP government had, in the past, laid foundation for decentralised development.
The former chief minister said if the government really felt that there were irregularities in the land pooling or there was any insider trading in declaring the area as capital city, it could order a judicial enquiry.
