TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s efforts to make the people believe that Amaravati will be the only capital of Andhra Pradesh by conducting an online survey are going to be a futile exercise.
YSR Congress party leader and state tourism minister Avanti Srinivasa Rao on Saturday made it clear that Visakhapatnam is going to be the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh, come what may, irrespective of surveys being conducted and legal battles being fought by the TDP leaders.
According to the TDP leaders, the online survey with hashtag #apwithamaravati started by Naidu on Monday last evoked tremendous response from all over the state.
“Over 95 per cent of the people across the state have expressed view that Amaravati should be continued as the only capital of Andhra Pradesh. In all, 3.76 lakh people took part in the online voting in the last six days and an overwhelming 95 per cent of them voted for Amaravati,” the TDP said.
However, Avanti Srinivas said nobody could stop Visakhapatnam from becoming the capital of AP.
“Any number of conspiracies hatched by Naidu cannot succeed in preventing the capital city coming up in Visakhapatnam,” he said.
He found fault with the TDP leaders for making false charges on the construction of guest house in Visakhapatnam.
“Naidu and his company have been trying to stall the development at every stage,” the minister said.
