Fight with BJP: Jagan condemns, KCR silent!

A section of newspapers on Tuesday morning reported that Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao have decided to launch a common fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party, which was trying to dominate the Telugu states.

These reports said KCR and Jagan who held four-hour long discussions at Pragathi Bhavan, the Telangana CM’s camp office in Hyderabad, reportedly felt that the BJP was trying to gain control over the Telugu states, denying funds legitimately due to the states and making attacks on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and YSR Congress party.

Within hours, there was a statement from Andhra Pradesh chief minister’s office stating that the reports were fictitious and absolutely lacked truth.

Particularly targeting Eenadu newspaper which highlighted the issue, the statement said no such issue (of countering the BJP) had come up for discussion in the CM’s meeting.

Describing the report as malicious, the CMO said the meeting was aimed at discussing issues of mutual interest such as diversion of Godavari waters to Krishna basin so as provide irrigation facilities to Krishna delta, Prakasam under Nagarjunasgar right canal and also Rayalaseema districts, besides pending unresolved issues.

“The meeting was totally away from any political issues and equations,” the CMO said and strongly condemned such reports.

Interestingly, there was no condemnation from Telangana CMO. On the other hand, the TRS leaders have started talking about KCR’s intention to fight against the Centre with the support of Andhra Pradesh government.

So, who should be believed?
