Fact Sheet: YSRC MLAs unhappy with I-PAC team

With just eight months left for the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, members of the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) hired by the YSR Congress party led by chief minster Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy are busy in working out strategies at the field level to fetch victory for the party.

Jagan is totally dependant on the I-PAC team for assessing the winning prospects of his party in various constituencies and also for countering the strategies of the opposition parties – the Telugu Desam Party and the Jana Sena Party.

However, his own party leaders, particularly the MLAs, are not happy with the I-PAC team members, who are said to be giving a negative feedback against many of them in their respective constituencies.

Reason: the I-PAC team members are telling the MLAs directly that they would have to work hard to win their seats, as their performance in their constituencies was far from satisfactory.

They are apparently keenly observing what the MLAs are doing and what the feedback of the people on them.

“It appears the I-PAC team members are acting as spies, keeping a watch on the MLAs’ movements and their activities; and are sending negative reports to the chief minister,” a YSRC leader said.

On many occasions, senior MLAs and ministers have reportedly given strict warning to the I-PAC members not to poke their nose into the party activities and concentrate on giving advices how to bring victory to the party.

“Instead, they are carrying tales to Jagan to ruin our future,” the leader said.

Many MLAs are under the impression that Jagan might drop at least 30 percent of them in the coming elections, only based on the feedback given by I-PAC.

“There are also allegations that the I-PAC members are demanding money from the MLAs in order to prepare favourable reports on them,” the party leader added.
