Fact Sheet: YCP Struggles Without 'Nanis' In Place

In Andhra Pradesh, the ex-YCP government had three prominent leaders named Nani—Kodali Nani, Perni Nani, and Alla Nani.

All three held their positions and maintained their popularity.

Kodali Nani was known for his caustic press meets, frequently attacking TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, which earned him many haters among non-YCP supporters while gaining admiration from YCP loyalists.

Perni Nani, another leader from the Machilipatnam constituency, regularly addressed press conferences in support of YCP leadership. He stood as a strong defender, countering allegations and criticisms against the party.

Alla Nani was another leader who was promoted to Deputy CM position along with Health and Family Welfare Ministry, resigned from the party after its downfall.

Now, Kodali Nani has confined himself to Hyderabad following YCP’s defeat, prioritizing his health and showing disinterest in politics.

Perni Nani has remained silent after he and his wife faced legal issues related to a rice scam. Although Perni Nani's wife secured anticipatory bail, he remains concerned about potential further legal troubles.

The details of Perni Nani’s legal situation are yet to be fully revealed, and due to this uncertainty, he has also avoided the media.

The absence of active roles from these three Nanis in YCP has left the party in neutral gear, preventing it from gaining momentum or moving forward.
