Even as there have been reports that prominent industrialist and My Home Group chairman Jupalli Rameshwara Rao might join the Bharatiya Janata Party and could be offered Rajya Sabha nomination, the Telangana BJP continues to target him in the state.
On Friday, BJP Lok Sabha member from Nizamabad Dharmapuri Arvind alleged that the My Home Group was blatantly violating the mining laws in the state. He lodged a complaint to this effect with chief secretary Somesh Kumar.
Arvind said he had brought to the notice of the chief secretary that My Home was indulging in illegal mining activities, but the state government was turning a blind eye towards the plundering of mining wealth by the company.
“What is worse, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government has allocated another 600 acres of limestone reserves to My Home Group,” he alleged.
The BJP leader threatened to launch a largescale agitation if the My Home Group did not stop illegal mining.
It may be mentioned that it was based on a complaint lodged by the BJP leaders that the Income Tax authorities raided an alleged benami construction company of My Home group a couple of days ago and detected documents showing tax evasion to the extent of Rs 166 crore.
The complaint was believed to be lodged by Dharmapuri Arvind, who has been collecting evidences against the company in a big way.
