Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan seems to be making selective choices when responding to situations and events.
He released a press note as the leader of his party, extending condolences to Kannada actor Sudeep on the demise of his mother. This is a commendable gesture, and everyone appreciates it.
However, at the same time, a gruesome event occurred in Andhra Pradesh where an 11th-grade girl was set on fire by a man and killed. Yet, Pawan Kalyan has not responded at all.
At the very least, he could have made a statement asserting that his government would not spare such criminals and would ensure the safety of women of all ages, as he promised during his election campaigns.
Additionally, Pawan Kalyan has remained silent regarding the ongoing crimes related to sand and liquor. It should be noted that Chandrababu Naidu himself has acknowledged that some misdeeds are happening concerning sand and liquor in his government and has alerted leaders and officers to address these issues.
So, why hasn’t Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan responded to this?
Some insiders suggest that he needs permission from Chandrababu Naidu to issue any statements, indicating a troubling situation of dependency.
When asked why, an insider remarked, "Chandrababu or his son Lokesh wouldn't allow Pawan Kalyan to grow in his own way. This is the reason he was prevented from addressing the public during the Vijayawada floods, a point Pawan Kalyan himself implied in one of his media interactions. He mentioned that he was not allowed to visit flood victims, citing concerns that people would mob him due to his stardom. So is the case with his tweets".
Whatever the situation may be, the general public expects comments from Pawan Kalyan on matters that relate to them, especially now that he is the Deputy CM.
