ED attaches ex-YSRCP MP properties

The Enforcement Directorate authorities on Friday attached properties worth Rs 44.74 crore belonging to YSR Congress party leader and former Visakhapatnam parliament member M V V Satyanarayana and his associates, in connection with the Hayagreeva lands case.

According to a statement from the ED, the attached properties include 14 immovable properties worth Rs 42.03 crore and six immovable properties worth Rs 2.71 crore belonging to MVV Builders, Hayagreeva Infratech Projects Limited, Gadde Brahmaji and his wife, Chilukuri Jagadeeswarudu, Chilukuri Radha Rani, Hayagreeva Projects and Varanasi Dileep.

The ED is probing the case under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with the alleged fraudulent encroachment of land measuring 12.51 acres allotted by the Andhra Pradesh government to Hayagreeva Farms and Developers at Yendada village in Visakhapatnam for the purpose of housing for old-age people and orphans in 2010.

On June 22, 2024, Ch Jagadeeswarudu, head of Hayagreeva Farms and Developers, filed a complaint with Arilova police station alleging that Satyanarayana, his auditor Gannamaneni Venkateswara Rao (popularly called GV) and realtor Gadde Brahmaji alleging that they had grabbed 12.51 acres of lands meant for orphanage, old age home and housing for senior citizens at Yendada by forging the land documents. The land was converted to a real estate venture and plots were sold for Rs 150 crore.

The police registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and criminal intimidation.

On October 19, 2024, the ED authorities conducted raids on the properties of former MP based on the FIR registered by the Arilova police and seized certain documents related to the property.

The attachment of properties on Friday is a follow up of these raids, people familiar with the development said.
