Before the assembly and parliament elections in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party leaders were regularly attacking Jana Sena Party chief and actor Pawan Kalyan, pointing an accusing finger at his family life.
Jagan himself used to refer to Pawan Kalyan’s multiple marriages in almost every speech much before the election process began.
He would call Pawan Kalyan “datta putrudu” (adopted son) of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu and allege that he would frequently change his wives like his clothes.
Of course, Pawan, too, would give strong retort to the YSRCP leaders during his speeches, questioning why they were raising his personal matters which had nothing to do with his public life. But his multiple marriages continued to be the subject for attack by the YSRCP leaders.
Now, this polygamy seems to be backfiring on YSRCP leaders, after the exposure of party MLC Duvvada Srinivas’ illegal relationship with another married woman Divvela Madhuri in Tekkali of Srikakulam district.
His affair has become a topic of heated debate on social media. One netizen pointed out that while Pawan Kalyan got married thrice after divorcing his earlier wives, Duvvada has not even given any divorce to his wife Vani, but has been living with another woman.
While Duvvada is trying to put up a weak defence, the YSRCP has disassociated itself with the entire episode, saying it had nothing to do with the party at all. “It is purely his personal matter. As a party, we have nothing to do, whatsoever, with the episode,” senior YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Y V Subba Reddy said.
Subba Reddy, who came to Visakhapatnam to take part in the filing of nomination by former minister Botsa Satyanarayana for the MLC seat on Monday, said Duvvada himself would sort out the issue with his wife.
If the extramarital affair of Duvvada is his personal, why didn’t the YSRCP leaders attack Pawan Kalyan, whose multiple marriages were also his personal matter? Any answer?
