Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday cautioned his party MLAs against making reckless statements that could harm the government and the party.
Addressing a meeting of the Telugu Desam Legislature Party (TDLP) in the State Assembly Committee Hall, Naidu issued key directives to party members. The two-hour meeting was attended by TDP MLAs, MLCs, and MPs.
Naidu urged party leaders to be mindful of their statements, advising them to avoid unnecessary or controversial remarks.
He reminded them how, during the 2019 election campaign, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders falsely linked the murder of former minister Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy to the TDP, misleading the public.
He pointed out that even Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, Sunitha, initially believed the misinformation but later sought justice through the court.
Naidu also warned against complacency, emphasizing that neglecting the party would have consequences for everyone.
He instructed party members to focus on strengthening the organization by actively engaging with second-rank leaders and grassroots workers.
"No one should neglect the party. All members must remain united and dedicated. Only by staying together can we move forward," he said.
He stressed the importance of hard work to ensure victory in the upcoming elections and urged party members to stay committed to their goals.
He assured them that he is closely monitoring reports on their performance and will soon engage personally with leaders and workers to discuss key issues.
Highlighting a lack of coordination within the party, Naidu called for the formation of a coordination committee to improve communication between MLAs, party cadre, and the public.
He assured that all nominated posts would be filled by April and directed leaders to recommend candidates for market yard committees and temple boards.
He emphasized that party appointments should be finalized before the upcoming TDP Mahanadu (annual party conclave).
Naidu instructed MLAs, MPs, and ministers to work together under the leadership of in-charge ministers and to hold immediate meetings to improve coordination and party strength.
