Unlike in the past, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers and supporters are no longer hesitating to express their opinions about the leadership style of party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
They are openly highlighting the government’s failures and the rampant corruption that continues at the grassroots level.
Many TDP workers and supporters have taken to social media to vent their frustration with the Naidu government, despite the chief minister launching several high-profile initiatives and programs aimed at appeasing the public.
Recently, a TDP worker who claimed to have been associated with the party for over three decades shared a video expressing deep disappointment with Naidu’s governance and his failure to deliver on pre-election promises.
For instance, the worker pointed out that during the elections, Naidu had promised to provide free sand to the public.
After coming to power, he made a grand announcement confirming that sand would indeed be supplied free of cost. TDP leaders even celebrated this as a significant achievement.
“However, in reality, there is no such thing as free sand,” the worker said in the now-viral video. “People are required to pay transportation charges to get sand delivered to their homes. In addition, they’re forced to pay commissions to local TDP leaders for access to sand.”
He went on to express frustration, saying that the so-called “free sand” scheme is nonexistent across the state, and that local leaders are profiting illegally under its guise.
The supporter also criticized Naidu for not implementing several key election promises.
He alleged that auto drivers, in particular, have been facing discrimination since Naidu came to power, with authorities restricting their access to cities.
He further claimed that pension benefits were being distributed even to individuals who own 20–30 acres of land, which he deemed unfair.
He also pointed out that while Naidu had pledged to improve road infrastructure, the condition of roads remained poor.
The TDP supporter expressed disappointment over several other aspects of Naidu’s administration.
Interestingly, he admitted that he had personally benefited more from Jagan Mohan Reddy’s welfare schemes.
