The meeting of Telangana Congress Legislature Party (CLP) under the leadership of chief minister A Revanth Reddy began at the Marri Channa Reddy Institute of Human Resources Development in Hyderabad on Thursday afternoon.
All the MLAs, MLCs and ministers of the Revanth government have been invited to attend the meeting, which will go on till evening. AICC in-charge of Telangana affairs Deepa Das Munshi is also attending the meeting.
The meeting is primary aimed at discussing on the strategy for taking the BC caste census and SC classification decisions to the public. Additionally, the chief minister will provide guidance to MLAs and MLCs on various issues, including local body elections.
Interestingly, 10 MLAs who defected from the BRS to Congress have also been invited to the CLP meeting. There is widespread speculation over whether the MLAs who defected from BRS to Congress will attend the meeting.
Since the anti-defection case is at a crucial stage in the Supreme Court. If these MLAs participate in the CLP meeting, it could serve as additional evidence against them in the case.
The defected MLAs now find themselves in a dilemma, caught between legal risks and political expectations. MLA Danam Nagender and several other defected legislators are reportedly staying at home, weighing their next move carefully.
