Declare Tirupati a separate nation, says Paul

The latest controversy over alleged adulteration of Tirupati laddu, following an allegation made by Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has made every Tom, Dick and Harry to make nasty comments.

On Thursday, maverick evangelist and Praja Shanti Party president K A Paul demanded that Tirupati should be declared as a separate country in the wake of allegations of sacrilege of Tirumala temple.

“I have filed a public interest litigation petition in the high court asking that Tirupati It should be declared as a Union territory. Otherwise, it should be acknowledged as a separate nation on the lines of Vatican City, which was declared autonomous country by the Italy government,” he said.

Paul argued that Tirupati deserves to be a separate country as it has a population of around 34 lakhs. Being a spiritual city, it should have its own rule, he demanded.
