Davos meet for networking, not signing MoUs: Naidu

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday pooh-poohed the criticism from the opposition parties, particularly YSR Congress party, that he could not secure a single investment to the state during his visit to World Economic Forum summit held at Davos in Switzerland.

Reacting to the criticism, Naidu told reporters that the WEF summit at Davos was a place where the heads of all the corporate companies from across the globe gather.

“The meeting is primarily meant for networking with these companies and showcase our state as an investment destination. It is not necessarily for signing the MoUs for investments,” he said.

He said he had met almost all the heads of companies like civil aviation, petroleum gas, PepsiCo, Walmart and several others and invited them to invest in the State.

"We have clearly explained to them the opportunities available here and asked them to invest in all parts of the State, including Amaravati," he maintained.

Making it clear that after becoming the chief minister for fourth term, he is now promoting 'AP Brand' across the globe, Naidu said he clearly explained to everyone the opportunities and the advantages available in the State for investing and to set up their industries.

“I have taken part in 27 meetings in Davos while our ministers Nara Lokesh and T G Bharat participated in 33 meetings. We are confident that heavy investments are going to be made in the State and said that this time everyone in Davos discussed only green energy, green hydrogen, nature farming, AI and Deep Tech,” he said.
