The former chief priest of the Tirumala temple Peddinti Srinivasa Murthy Deekshitulu(75) passed away Monday morning.
Srinivasa Murthy was diagnosed with Covid-19 infection recently and he was undergoing treatment in SVIMs hospital for the last four days.
Srinivasa Murthy Deekshitulu had served as the chief priest of Tirumala Srivari Temple for more than 20 years.
He was retired from the services the last year and he was living in Tirupati since then.
As he passed away due to Covid-19, his body may not be given to the family members for performing final rites.
Tirupati MLA Bhumana Krunakar Reddy condoled the death of Srinivasa Murthy Deekshitulu.
